Key Responsibilities
We are seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking professional to join our
commercial team as a Carrier and Logistics Specialist, supporting customer
growth, retention, and long-term satisfaction within our transportation and
freight offering.
This is a commercially critical role with end-to-end ownership of our carrier and
transportation ecosystem. It includes developing long-term partnerships,
leading transportation implementations, and managing carrier procurement
and negotiations—all with a direct impact on our commercial growth.
You will help define and implement our transport and carrier strategy, ensuring
competitiveness in our transportation and freight offerings. This will enable our
TMS platform to deliver exceptional value, cost efficiency, and service
performance across customer logistics operations.
The role involves project management and close cross-functional collaboration
with finance, tech, and customer success teams. You will play a key role in
delivering in-depth transportation analytics, identifying trends, and driving
actionable insights—acting as a trusted advisor and expert to our customers.
Required Skills & Experience
Transportation revenue and profitability
Drive retention and growth of transportation volumes within the customer base
by identifying trends, uncovering needs, and structuring effective transportation
solutions that benefit both customers and vchain.
Provide best-in-class expertise, confidence, and market insights, acting as a
trusted advisor to customers.
Carrier strategy, sourcing and relationships
Contribute to the development and execution of the carrier strategy.
Initiate and lead sourcing and negotiations, including freight rates, contractual
terms, service level agreements (SLAs), and capacity commitments.
Ensure ongoing freight market competitiveness and cost control.
Monitor logistics and transportation market trends and leverage insights to
drive customer retention and growth.
Build and maintain long-term strategic partnerships with leading domestic and
international carriers.
Customer transportation implementation
Manage and drive projects related to transportation and carrier setup
implementations and modifications.
Take a proactive and forward-leaning approach when aligning with customers
and internal stakeholders.
Analyze transportation and shipment data, track cost developments, and
monitor SLA performance to ensure continuous optimization, quality, and
profitability.
Maintain strong knowledge of transport management systems (TMS), carrier
integrations, and protocols (e.g., API, EDI), as well as digital logistics processes.
Facilitate communication between vchain’s technical teams and carrier technical
teams.
Collaborate closely with customer success and product teams to support
integrations between customers, carrier systems, ERPs, and our TMS platform.
Project management and collaboration
Lead customer implementation projects, ensuring carrier setups are executed
with high quality and aligned with scope, customer expectations, product
feasibility, and go-live timelines.
Nice to Have
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in logistics and transportation, with proven success in carrier management and freight operations
Strong track record of managing strategic customer and carrier relationships and leading complex rate negotiations across multiple geographies
Excellent analytical and strategic capabilities combined with strong operational execution skills
Fluent in English and Swedish
